Bern: City of Bears!

The next stop was to the capital of Switzerland, Bern.

Here is a photo journey of our first day in the city.

Bern is the capital of Switzerland. Its name means bear.

If you look closely this is a statue of a man eating babies.
Is this really the best way to welcome tourists?
Are they trying to say they want my first born?

Ben in front of the Swiss Parliament building.
We would have toured the inside, but it was closed for the holidays.

In the summer time you can swim down these rivers.

Bear and man marching off to battle.

A bear solider with a little cub by his side.

I thought this was cute how the bear is
hanging onto the soldier.

A close up of the church door.

A statue of four bears surrounding a solider on horseback.

Ben taming the bear. Ben is so good with animals!

Me kissing the bear. Ben was jealous.

A fountain frozen over with ice.

This Christmas tree is made out of
old plastic bottles to bring awareness to
recycling.

Nooo! Not a bear with a gun!
Stephen Colbert was right they are godless
killing machines!

A traditional swiss meal: egg on top of bacon, potato/hashbrowns.
